How Long Do Acrylic Press-On Nails Last? (Plus How to Remove and Reuse Them)

Reusable pink French tip acrylic press-on nails in a tray – Nail Lounge

One of the most common questions we get on Instagram is "how long will they stay on?" The answer depends mostly on what you apply them with and how well you prepare your nails. Here's what to expect, and how to get the most from every set.

Premium adhesive tabs

6 to 8 days

Premium nail glue

3 to 4 weeks

Premium adhesive tabs: 6 to 8 days

Our premium adhesive tabs hold your acrylic press on nails for 6 to 8 days, and they come off gently without damaging your natural nails. They're perfect for a week of events, a wedding week or a holiday, and the best choice if you want to reuse your nails many times.

Premium nail glue: 3 to 4 weeks

With good preparation and our premium nail glue, acrylic press on nails last 3 to 4 weeks, as long as a salon manicure. Choose glue when you want to wear one set every day, for work, university or the whole wedding season.

How long they last also depends on your natural nails, your daily routine and how much you use your hands in water.

How to make them last longer

  • Push back your cuticles and buff each nail in one direction only.
  • Clean your nails with the wipe and don't touch them before applying.
  • Leave a 1 mm gap between the tab and your cuticle, and place the nail at a 45° angle, 2 mm from the cuticle. See our step-by-step video guide.
  • Choose the right size so the edges don't touch your skin. Read our size guide.
  • Avoid hot water for the first hour.
  • Wear gloves when washing dishes or cleaning.
  • Use your fingertips, not your nails, to open cans and packets.

How to remove them safely

  1. Soak your fingertips in warm, soapy water for 10 to 15 minutes. A few drops of oil help.
  2. Gently lift from the side with the cuticle stick. Never pull or force them off, because this can damage your natural nails.
  3. If a nail is still stuck, soak for a few more minutes. Glue takes longer to loosen than tabs.
  4. Remove leftover glue or tab residue and apply a little oil to your nails and cuticles.

Can you reuse acrylic press on nails?

Yes! That's one of the best things about them. Clean off the old tabs or glue, keep the nails in their box in size order, and they're ready for your next event. With care, one set can be worn many times, which makes them much better value than a salon visit every time.
