What's in your kit

  • Cuticle stick, to push back cuticles
  • Nail file, to buff the nail surface
  • Wipe, to clean the natural nail
  • Adhesive tabs, to stick your press-ons on

Step 1: Push back your cuticles

Wash and fully dry your hands. Gently push back your cuticles with the cuticle stick. If your natural nails are long, trim them short first.

Step 2: Buff in one direction only

Lightly buff the surface of each nail with the nail file, always in the same direction, not back and forth. This removes the shine so the press-on grips better, without damaging your natural nail.

Step 3: Wipe each nail clean

Wipe every nail with the wipe to remove oil and dust. Don't touch your nails after this step, because oil from your fingers is the number one reason press-ons pop off early.

Step 4: Match the sizes

Before you stick anything, lay out the nails and pick the right size for each finger. Each press-on should cover your nail from side to side without touching your skin. If you are between two sizes, choose the slightly bigger one and file the sides. Not sure about your size? Read our press-on nail size guide.

Step 5: Stick the adhesive tab 1 mm from the cuticle

Peel off an adhesive tab and stick it onto your natural nail, leaving a 1 mm gap from your cuticle. Smooth it down so there are no air bubbles, then peel off the top film.

Step 6: Place the nail at 45°, 2 mm from the cuticle

Hold the press-on nail at a 45° angle and place its base 2 mm away from your cuticle. Then lower it down onto your nail and press firmly in the centre and on both sides for 20 to 30 seconds. Do your thumbs last, because they take the most pressure.

Step 7: Final touches

Gently file the edges if needed. For the first hour, avoid hot water, washing dishes and heavy lotions so the hold can set properly.
